It's been a while since I'd drawn an original piece of fan art with characters from Disney's multiple award-winning CGI feature "Zootopia". And since this is February (my latest 'sweeps month'), I'd felt it was only appropriate to render a Valentine's Day comic strip with two such characters from the animated film... and NO, not Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps!

Every "Zootopia" fan and his mother will probably draw the fox-and-rabbit duo in a romantic situation most fitting for Valentine's Day... overlooking the fact that there were other couples featured in the movie - such as Stu & Bonnie Hopps (Judy's parents - who, if it wouldn't for them, she wouldn't be born), or that elephant couple sharing an ice cream sundae at Jumbeaux's Cafe. And no other couple in Zootopia showed more love for one another than Mr. & Mrs. Emmitt Otterton (especially near the end of the film, when they were reunited at the hospital).

So, I drew the two otters in the comic panel, accompanied by a traditional Valentine's Day message in a giant heart (with a corny, but apropos pun next to it).

I might consider rendering another Valentine's Day gag with other "Zootopia" characters - such as Bellwether the sheep ("Happy V-Day, you little woolgatherer you!") or Nanga the elephant ("Have an unforgettable Valentine's Day!") or Flash and Priscilla the sloths ("Our love will go on forever... or it will just seem that way!") - even if my fan art might not be ready for posting until after the holiday...
