Wait, he's got on officers grade boots on, so they actually fit, and unlike the enlisted grsde which the seams are heavy and meet right at the ankle so they chaff. Plus weren't cured with dirty motor oil.

and the officer's later patter gymnastorka, as it has pockets. they took the pockets away from the enlisted re-issue. but he still has the earlier officer's pattern belt.
