Having never baked a gingerbread house before, I had to go all out on my first one. This was a scale model of our house (Doomkeep), and it's all made from scratch. I drafted the pattern, baked the sheets of gingerbread, and even made sugar glass for all the windows. Everything was held together with royal icing, and I even put battery powered lights inside!
And it was absolutely delicious after Christmas was over.
