*NOTE PLEASE READ BEFORE LISTENING!
Piece that will be played for my exam, I decided to name it "Saltare Etude" as "saltare" is the Latin word for dance, and the theme I was supposed to draw on is "movement." Please take into consideration that this piece has to be played with heart and soul in order to have the full effect, so I'm hoping the quality isn't terrible so you can understand the emotion behind it.
The background story that I decided to use was based off of a young girl peering into a dance studio through a window, only wishing that she could dance as well as the other people. When everyone had left, the girl would dance by herself, only to realize later that she had been watched by the instructor. She then became an amazing performer, finally taking her dreams into her own hands.
As cliche and corny as this sounds I'm sticking to this, and I hope that when you visualize this you can relate the music to the scenario that was explained in the latter paragraph. Closing your eyes may help in order to understand the full feeling, but you don't have to of course.
The intro "poem" which will be used to sum up and generalize the depiction of the scene taking place is as follows:
The emotions that fill up the room overflow through the window,
The light invites dreams that were never realized,
Since you fly freely,
Soar high, and discover a place you were meant to be,
Dancing on the moon's stage in the night.
On a sidenote, you don't HAVE to read this first but I'd be very appreciative if you did since this will be graded and I'd like to know if the sound relates to the story. ANY (and I mean ANY) feedback will be amazing (and loved) since I would like to have this as polished as possible before the 18th. Thank you for listening! I hope you like it.

*Drooling*
that was a very beautiful piece, i could visualize the entierty of what you described [seeing as i read the paragraph after listening, i listend again after reading the despription]
I can see this being a score for a video game like final fantasy [i was reminded of the score from the intro of FFX] or an instrumental score for an anime. [FMA just popped into my head... >_< or like a ghibli film such as mononoke or howl's moving castle.]
Keep practicing though, since in some parts it sounded still a little rough, and practice never hurts. ^__^
Keep at it Kurasan!!
You're very welcome.
*smiles and bows*
I will be honest and say that I am a total sucker for classical pieces, mainly string and wind instruments, so hearing something so beautiful from a student was really quite a treat.
and in actuality it just needs a bit of polishing yaknow... and i'm sure that in two weeks you can do that, just dont fall and like break/sprain your hand or anything else so you are unable to play... that would blow completely. [x__o]
Good luck ~!
wow... That was haunting. Reading your description helped for sure, but I think I would have heard movement and dance in that piece regardless. Your timing and rhythm were wonderful, and the build up of complexity towards the end was great. I love piano, so this is truly amazing to hear! Did you write that poem btw? It was beautiful.
WHOA! D:
The only thing I can really say, atm, is that I'm sorry for not being an AWEsome music critic. (-_-)
There's so much I want to say about this piece. Though brief, it conveys quite a bit of emotion. A girl wishing she could dance like an ivory swan on a luminescent lake, huh? FANTASTIC!! (o.o)
What's GREAT about this piece is that I SWEAR I could see her dancing. It was the way you hit the keys starting at (00:37)! I literally envisioned her tiptoeing across a cerulean moonlit lake, her soul RIPPLING into the water below.
*sigh*
So BEAUTIFUL.....
*hugs you ridiculously tight* ^^
Yep, you've got MAGIC fingers BOI! =O
Take CARE of them! ;3

I'm not very good at critiquing music, but I do know great songs when I hear them, and this is definitely a beautiful and great song.
I want to download it, so that I may listen to it while falling asleep and dreaming. That would be greatest sleep ever. ^_^
Also, when I envision this song in my mind, I see a young beautiful girl, dancing under the night sky, with the moon and stars shining bright, and every time a specific note hits, a star sparkles and falls toward the girl, as she continues dance. X3
I hope you do really well on your final exam. But I personally don't think you have anything to worry about. ^^
