It's less than a week until the new Star Trek movie and I'm really looking forward to it. Inspired by the imminent release going back to an idea I never really sketched in the first place, I went on a Trek sketching tear featuring the major uniforms from the entertainment franchise.

When I started this little project, I had intended to do as many of the uniforms as I could including variations like the Mirror Universe and other alternate realities. By the time I got to the Next Generation though, I was running out of steam and skipped the first version that many people used to joke looked like pantyhose more than uniforms. I have to admit that I liked this style which were also designed by William Ware Theiss, designer of the classic Trek uniforms. I did want to draw the variant of the captain's uniform that was mostly gray with a red colored jacket and might do it sometime later in the week.
