It's less than a week until the new Star Trek movie and I'm really looking forward to it. Inspired by the imminent release going back to an idea I never really sketched in the first place, I went on a Trek sketching tear featuring the major uniforms from the entertainment franchise.

Ah, now this uniform was a lot more like it. I can still remember seeing Star Trek II on opening night. Other than hearing about how it was a sequel to the TV episode 'Space Seed', I hadn't heard much else about the movie so Spock's death at the end of the film came literally as a shock to me. For days after, I read stories of how Leonard Nimoy wanted to distance himself from the character so it looked like Spock would stay dead. I suppose I should have seen Star Trek III coming but I was young then. At any rate, Spock's managed to outlive several of the other characters and Nimoy some of his fellow cast members and none of that has anything to do with how cool these uniforms looked.
