"Yes sir, those are some very interesting stories about your, um, 'encounters' with green-skinned alien women. And that's a very interesting fact about some Gorn females being larger than the males but I don't see what that has to do with my current mission, sir. Wait, I'm getting a tricorder reading. I think something big is heading this waaaaay-!!"
*transcript note: communication seems garbled for the next several minutes with the only sounds being recorded sounding like muffled screams or cries and several loud growls and snarls, both getting progressively louder until they cease and a weary and pained sounding voice calls to be beamed up afterward. Additional note: commendation in the captain's log for Lt. Dharken for bravery above and beyond the call of duty noted, though the circumstances of said commendation are vague.
It's less than a week until the new Star Trek movie and I'm really looking forward to it. Inspired by the imminent release going back to an idea I never really sketched in the first place, I went on a Trek sketching tear featuring the major uniforms from the entertainment franchise.
I couldn't resist a bit of a story with this one, namely the classic uniform designed by William Ware Theiss, as a tribute to the original Trek series and my favorite alien race, the Gorn. I actually have toy replicas of the phaser and communicator but couldn't afford the tricorder when it went on sale. I used to have a command shirt like that ages ago as a kid. Sears sold them and I had long and short sleeved versions. I did manage to get a command patch like that at a convention some years back.

I remember having this old phaser thing that was basically a flashlight and had cut out inserts for projecting shapes onto walls. I think my brother and I had those commincator walkie-talkies too. And we definitely had several of the old action figurs and the bridge set. I think I prefer the versions I have now. The communicator flips open just like on the show and the phaser seperates into the hand phaser like it's supposed to.
Well, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Dharken, ah... "fending off" the Gorn female.

"Look, I can't pay child support... because the Federation is a Socialist state, hell, I'm not paid at all!... Well, it was your fault, you were the one to jump me!"
