Critter Boys: Nicky
Name: Nicky
Species: Fancy Rat
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Occupations: Unemployed; occasional drug dealing
Likes: Hard drugs, large males. submission, hard rock/heavy metal, affection
Dislikes: Cops, his father, himself
Extracurricular: Has interest in pursuing rock music but his aspirations are threatened by drug use and destitution.
Nicky's a fancy rat living in the rotting side of another big city. Like many rats, at first glance the petite rodent looks tough, maybe even dangerous to some, and that's how it has to be for a rat of the city, accentuating his masculinity to hide just how much he truly values the concept. Can't tell the other males that this isn't his place, can't tell the others that he's here to see the big buck inside. He's just another young rat who hasn't grown up, hasn't grown out of that foolish hope that someday, somebody somewhere would be there, walk with him, eat with him, sit with him, or just hold him a while. Chucky's not gonna do it either but at least he'll touch him, take him, ravage him, he won't kiss him, doesn't say his name most of the time, but it's something, you have to grab anything, and a needle in the arm only takes you so far. Then it's back out there, buckle your belt, strap on the bracelets, slip your shirt back on and go back to playing your part. Go back to where you belong. That's Nicky. Just another young rat who wishes he were anyone else.

"at first glance the petite rodent looks tough, maybe even dangerous to some" -- He's about as dangerous looking as Chris Crocker in a Minor Threat t-shirt.
That said, the very next line "accentuating his masculinity to hide just how much he truly values the concept" made me laugh-- boy does he ever value it.
Poor tense kid, though. You made him seem damn frail here. The spike bracelets seem almost comical given how much of his needing-a-man-to-hold-him he is expressing here. Just makes his presence sadder.

Well that's why it says "dangerous to some," context is important here. He doesn't look particularly threatening on his own but neither would the majority of black people of not for, you know, society. See what I'm saying?
I intended to draw it so the expression would look both timid and stoic, depending on how you were looking at it but ultimately the "timid" side of that is a lot more pronounced. Which is fine I suppose.

I still feel like I suck at clothes most of the time but this one came out decently.
I haven't really decided how Nicky's story ends. He's got some decent background though, considering he started as just a character in a much earlier porn drawing, same with Chuck. I considered combining him with a similar looking character of mine who is actually in a meaningful relationship, thus giving him that happy ending but I think the personalities are too different. Even if Nicky finds happiness, he's not going to just shed that city-rat demeanor, even if he does soften a bit.
The story for he and chuck is pretty short and is largely just a porn story but it does also discuss the more psychological and emotional side of the two males. It's written in a similar tone as my main story series "Skater Rat," kind of a taste of that atmosphere for the people around here who would never bother reading a clean story.
As always, thanks for your thoughts on this.
