Maya is Sereina's other personnality. Chaotic and insane, her spirit ended up twisted forever due to the pain she endured during her transformation. She hates almost everyone except Sereina that she swore to protect. She tolerates the presence of Sereina's closest friends (Andrew and Cammie). Should Sereina feel threatened or in danger, Maya will emerge and deal with the threat. While she will not kill her opponents, but she will happily torture them both mentally and physically even if not necessary with her immense powers.
While Sereina and Maya cannot coexist (they can't be aware at the same time, and Maya can't see what Sereina is doing and vice versa) they often meet each other during lucid dreams.
Finally, Maya doesn't care Sereina's eating habbits and will eat fish and meat. She also uses a different kind of telepathy to communicate, allowing her to emit sounds that everyone in the vincinity can hear, kinda like a ventriloquist.

She is the previous inhabitant of this body, but her personnality has been overriden by Sereina's after the injection of the Forced Hybridation Virus. While she should have been erased, her will was so powerfull that she managed to remain, but the pain endured was so intense that she ended up twisted like this forever.
