Thenyr recently lost his wing during some troubling times for him. He looks to his Faenya, the sun goddess, for support only to see his fellow flying within her comforting rays.

I've worked with one-winged bald eagles in the past and it is very sad. They peer up at the sky and are so hard-wired for flight that even after several years they will stiffen up and open their remaining wing as if preparing to spring into the air, then they remember and settle back down. ;v; Fortunately US law no longer allows whole wing amputations, only partial, and it's done very judiciously (e.g., only wild birds with a good likelihood of adjusting well and having a good permanent home).
There's been attempts with beaks and feet but not with wings. Prosthetics are highly publicized when used with birds but the reality is that they never have been able to provide enough benefit to outweigh the costs (both monetary and life-quality) of constant maintenance and repeated replacement that is required.
