A fairly fey pagan friend told me about this cactus-sandstone spirit she met out in the desert. I liked the idea, though this winds up being a lot more junk that fell out of my own head than what she saw.
But hey, how many cactus-women does this archive have?

Actually, I think there are probably at least a handful of cacti femmes. There's a cactus-based Pokemon, and the fandom seems to have turned each Pokemon into a female anthro at least once. I do know that there's a pinecone-anthro (yes, a pinecone), so anything's possible.
Also, I totally adore those animal/sigils-rings. I fell in love with them when I saw Guilty Gear's Dizzy, but quickly realized that they're all but impossible to represent in a static image. You've done an excellent job; I can really feel a sense of ring-ness about them.

Oh my goodness! We just made up a cactus-woman monster for our game of How We Came To Live Here!
She's called Her-Skin-Is-Thorns and she brews liquor from the cacti in the hopes of luring a young man to be her husband...they don't survive her embrace for long, though!
I'll have to ask the other players if this picture works for her XD

So far, good! The first session we spend on character creation, which includes making up the village and the people in it, and tying them all together. It was a blast; at the end we had four good characters, all with aspirations, plans, and secrets; a nifty setting; and a roster of interesting NPCs, all with relationships to the PCs, caught up in their various goals and ambitions. And it was all collaboratively created, so we all feel invested in the result. Every game should start off so well.
The game mechanic is simple and fun, and supports player narration of conflict while still pinning it to a definite resolution system. Two players share the GM's duties of playing NPCs, which is kind of cool as it reduces the pressure a bit. But scene-framing is shared in rotation among all the players, so everyone gets to contribute. I'm definitely looking forward to the next session on Sunday!
