Does this glossy little imp look a bit familiar to you? It should, especially if you are fond of Disney films. This simple 'dragon' was sculpted with none other than the legendary Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty in mind, at least in a roundabout way. :)

This 3 inch muskrat skull has been given a pair of elegant sculpted horns and a little scaly skin detailing using professional polymer clay. The skull was painted in glossy black with undershadings of intense metallic emerald green, along with a faint wash of gunmetal silver over the top to bring out the scale carvings. You can follow the link at the bottom to see more photos that show the green shading.

The mini dragon hangs on a 21 inch black chain with lobster clasp. The skull itself is perfect (no missing teeth) and came from a naturally deceased specimen.

A perfect gift for yourself...or for that tall, lovely demoness in your life. ;p

*For those who are big Sleeping Beauty fans let it be known that I am working on a fox skull 'Skritter' sculpture that will be a larger and far more elaborate tribute to Maleficent! That piece will be a fully detailed dragon based on the finale of the animated film.*
