Oh man... this one was really tough! a_blue_deer has a very organic grain pattern that is beautiful but is incredibly difficult to reproduce faithfully. I ended up creating a custom GIMP brush just to try to mimic the grainy patterns. This was also pushing the limits of my ability to paint. Neither effort was entirely successful, but overall I think it came out okay. What do you think?
