the pipes/rods/whatever are fucking sublime, just so you know, though.
And if I didn't know what an African wild dog looked like I'd say the neck was too long. But it isn't.
The shading is amazing, everything about the train looks perfect.
The clothing looks just as amazing.
The floor lines are nice and even and straight and the lighting is right on.
The over all feel of the pic is very cool, reminds me of going home late night from Boston after visiting people out there, a very sort of quiet feel, almost lonely, I can almost see the slow rocking of the train.
Good job, I could never do anything remotely close to this level of work myself.
That's all I got for ya lol.
When I was conceptualizing this, i was paling on using the T as the setting, however none of the pictures I took matched closely enough to the image in my head to use.
As for the ads, I'm thinking of this as more a psychological subway rather than a actual one. Images in the mind always lack definite details.... like ads.
thanks again!
I'm just gonna say that this looks like you took a picture and edited it so that it looked like it was made of pencil.
:D
just...amazing!
To balance it out, I would darken up other dark areas of the drawing such as the lower portion on which the seat rests and maybe the windows. I might add, the reflections on the windows as they are are very nice. After that maybe very slight darkening of certain details like maybe the nose and darker lines of reflection on the poles from other dark areas.
Of course all this is just from what is seen here, I know scanners/pictures can flatten out values and that in reality it may look quite different. :)
I see others have mentioned the neck maybe being too long....I really don't agree. Considering this is an anthropomorphic african wild dog I think it's perfectly fine. Hell, even not considering that it's not something that stands out as odd to me.
I think The metallic look of the poles is great too.
Thanks.
Wonderful work, well shaded, well proportioned, very nice sense of composition. I really admire your work.
Do your teachers let you do this in class, or is this all outside work?
Did this go into your final review that year, out of curiosity?
It was an assignment, so yes, it did.
