I watched the movie, I just don't think a llama would fit. While it seems to be true that in his kingdom the animal seems to be held in high regard, I believe his crown would be a more appropriate cutie mark. But since you think that a llama is a good fit for him, I might as well just ask why rather than complain about it.
Given the amount of absurdity and trouble he was put through as a llama to learn his lesson, it's probably more a morbid mockery to say being a llama (ie a dirty animal) is just his specialty to spite him. That's my take on it anyway.
