Azriel chuckled, grinning as he bit into his food, humming happily to himself as he looked to his digivice. It was still kinda weird to think about, HIS digivice, connected to his digimon, a beautiful renamon with a lovely pair of mammaries.
The child like jubilation in Azriel was in direct contrast to Krystal, the fox digimon grumbling unhappily as she just stared at her food. What had she done to deserve such a terrible day? All the card slashing shenanigans that had humiliated and bruised her all building up to finding out that her tamer, the human she was supposed to be close to…was a perverted digiphile. In all fairness, he’d been trying to help her, and she was grateful, but Azriel didn’t exactly scream ideal digitamer.
“You know you could probably stand to be a bit less excited.” Patamon spoke up, giving Azriel a dirty look, “You look like a little kid.”
“Well I have reason to be happy.” Azriel smirked, “My partner isn’t a fat little log with wings.”
Amaya sighed, “Both of you please.” She gave Krystal a pat on the back, “And don’t worry…you still can kick my brother’s ass if he ever tries anything. Him being your tamer doesn’t change a thing.”
“I’m feeling unfairly persecuted here.” Azriel balked, taking a sip of his drink, “You’re all acting as if me being Krystal’s tamer is a bad thing…like somehow I’m a bad tamer.”
“Yeah that would be the gist of it.” Amaya snickered, grinning as took a bite. “I mean, you were really excited that your partner had tits…way more than you should. Not exactly inspiring for a new tamer.”
Azriel huffed, grumbling, “Oh like any guy wouldn’t have the same reaction.” He crossed his arms, “If anything, given how much I’ve helped, I’d say I’m the perfect tamer for Krystal.” He smirked, puffing his chest up, “And she’s obviously the perfect digimon for me.”
The renamon groaned, head dropping into her paws, shaking it with sigh, “Why me?”
“You’re all a bunch of ungrateful jerks.” Azriel grumbled, eating in silence since everyone was against him. He sighed and grumbled, finishing up his meal before blinking, looking off in the distance, as it sounded like something was going on.
Amaya blinked, “What’s wrong?”
He held up a hand, eyes closing as he tried to focus on his hearing. It was faint, in the distance, but it was steadily starting to become clear, meaning it was getting closer. It was still hard to make out, the local conversation of restaurant goers drowning it out a fair bit.
Then, suddenly, he heard a very distinct sound…a roar. From something big no less. Slowly the sound of crashing and screams started to filter in, Azriel’s eyes shooting open. “We’re gonna have company…”
The other blinked, Krystal taking a sharp breath, “W…what?”
He looked around, teeth clenching tightly as he spoke, “We need to get away from people…come on!” He got up and started running, the others following behind him in short order.
The group made their way to an abandoned parking lot, the sounds getting louder before they skid to a stop. Just in time to turn around and see the source of all the commotion, a devidramon landing nearby with a massive crash. The large digimon let out a massive roar, eyes fixating on Krystal as it took a pair of heavy steps forward, ground shaking as it moved. Azriel was glad they had run away when they did; though he was less glad that he had been right assuming that Krystal had another attacker.
He shook his head, taking his digivice and strapping it to his arm properly, Amaya swiping a card through hers, patamon digivolving into angemon. The combatants all stared down one another for what seemed like hours before the evil dragon digimon let out another bellowing roar as it charged forward. Angemon took to the air, Krystal running to the side and keeping the large digimon’s attention as it stomped toward her. Angemon took immediate use of the devidramon’s single mindedness, gathering power into his hand before unleashing a beam of energy. The attack struck the side of the devidramon’s head, the beast bellowing as it stumbled a bit before turning on the angel.
One of its massive arms whipped through the air, red claws cutting through the air with a shrill whistle. Angemon blocked the blow, the claws striking on the metal of his rod and throwing him back a fair distance. The devil dragon attempted to slash again, before the barrage of a diamond storm struck the back of his head, knocking the beast off balance, sending it to the ground with a crash. It didn’t stay down there for long, the lumbering digimon pushing itself back up, looking back and swinging down with its tail to smash the fox digimon. Krystal dashed to the side, chunks of asphalt scattering from the impact as she rolled back onto her feet, letting another diamond storm fly in conjunction with angemon’s heaven’s knuckle.
The creature snarled, covering its head with one arm as it reared back, wildly slashing with its other claws. “Alright, angemon, get ready for a speed boost!” Amaya slashed a card through her digivice, a brief glow emanating from the angel before he took off like a jet aircraft. He flew around the devidramon, circling around several times before surging forward and slamming his rod into the evil dragon’s jaw. Azriel looked to Krystal, another card in his hand, the renamon nodding as she ran forward. Angemon kept his hit and run tactic up, swooping in to deliver a powerful blow with his rod before flying away before his opponent could counter attack, keeping the beasts attention firmly on the flying angel. Azriel swiped the card, Krystal taking a leap, “Angemon, boost!” The angel’s direction shifted, flying beneath the fox and swinging his rod upward to the renamon, giving her a boost and letting sore high in the air.
As angemon resumed his attack, Krystal engulfed her paws in blue fire as she started spinning around in the air, coming down atop the devidramon’s head with a strength enhanced kick, the devil dragon crumbling to the ground from the blow. The massive digimon snarled, shaking his head, dizzy from the renamon’s strike, mumbling something that the others couldn’t make out until “….ad victorium…”
Krystal eyes went wide, grabbing her head as she stumbled away, sight and sound fading away as her head thumped painfully. Flashes one again played through her mind, visions of sights that lingered for only a brief moment, too short for her to truly grasp. One sight did manage to linger just long enough for her to clearly see it though, a devidramon…the same devidramon, walking alongside the same taomon she had seen in her last vision, calm and docile.
Azriel bit his lip, cursing as he watched his digimon stumbling away holding her head, “Of course, why make this easy on me.” He ran for a collection of discarded materials for a fence that had never been made, the tubes of metal capped with pointed finial tops. Taking a few of the posts in hand he turned, cursing again as angemon slammed into the ground, the devidramon snarling as its tail cracked back. The massive beast moved to finish the angel, Azriel groaning as he rolled his eyes, running near the beast and tossing one of the scavenged “spears” at the digimon.
Amaya ran to Angemon, looking to her brother as the devidramon advanced on him, batting away one before taking a swipe at the human. “Azriel!”
Krystal blinked, turning and gasping, focusing and launching a diamond storm to draw the raging digimon’s attention, giving a passing strike, Azriel barely managing to roll away. Panting and gasping for breath as he stumbled to his sister. “He okay?”
She nodded, cradling patamon in her arms as she handed a card to her brother, “Here!” Azriel didn’t ask questions, taking the card and swiping it through his device.
Krystal blinked as she was engulfed by light, devidramon snarling as it rushed forward, an arm rising, claws ready for the decent. As it struck, the light dissipated, a figure shooting out, going between the devil dragon’s legs, skidding across the ground before coming to a stop. A nine-tailed fox stood, yellow and white furred, with its paws and tail tips seemingly burning an ethereal blue.
“Kyubimon…” Krystal looked herself over briefly before glaring at her opponent. “Azriel! Let’s do this!”
He chuckled, getting up and strutting over, “Right, just leave the card work to me. I got your back.”
The devidramon snarled, tail smashing the ground as it bellowed it rage, “Kill you…both! Kill all of you!”
Azriel just gave him a cocky smirk, “Yeah no…I’m getting laid before I died…preferably with a…”
Krystal groaned, “please not now.”
He sighed, “Alright, alright…Krystal, run circles around this guy.” He took out the speed boost card, slashing it through his device, “Round 2 you mother…” The beast roared, rushing forward, Krystal responding in kind, denting the ground as she charged, kicking up a massive draft as she gave the dragon a fiery headbutt right in its chest. Leaping off it, the nine-tailed vixen dashed around, mimicking angemon’s tactics, striking again and again from different angles and dashing away before the massive dragon could do anything about it. Azriel walked around, watching the fight and noticing that no lasting damage was being done, “Krystal, it’s not working.”
She leapt up, landing on a building across the street as she looked to her partner, “Any ideas then!?”
Azriel looked their opponent over, “He’s not taking any damage from the…wait, don’t these guys have a breath attack?” he looked to Krystal, “Knock out his legs.” The kyubimon nodded, rushing forward as she became engulfed in her blue fire that took the shape of a dragon, using the last of her speed boost to slam into the back of devidramon’s les, the beast bellowing as it fell to its knees. Azriel pulled out two cards, slashing one through his digivice, “Hypervoice!”
Krystal ran up the dragon’s back, leaping over his head and letting out a loud roar of her own, knocking, forcing it to use its arms to keep it up. “Combo them Krystal!” The nine-tailed fox enveloped herself in fire again, the dragon shaped flames descending into the devil dragon’s face as it turned to look at her, punctuating the hit with another loud roar. The devidramon snarled and screeched in pain as it fell to the ground, the left side of its face still smoldering as it forced itself to rise, looking around for its opponent but seeing no fox.
Another fence post struck the digimon’s snout, its good eyes immediately whipping to Azriel who just smirked, “Aww, the little dragon got a boo boo? Maybe feeling a bit stupid for picking a fight it can’t win?”
The devil dragon snarled, “Kill you! Kill you! Can’t run from this!” He reared his head back, mouth opening wide as it prepared to unleash its dark gale. As it brought its head down to let the dark electrical storm engulf the human though, Krystal reappeared, the shroud on her vanishing as her nine tails each lobbed a blue fireball. All nine orbs went straight into the beast’s open mouth, its eyes going wide as shortly after they exploded. Fire bellowed from its mouth, the devil dragon screaming and flailing about, the flames consuming it from the inside.
After several seconds of thrashing about the massive digimon fell to the ground, lifeless as the flames slowly dissipated. Azriel cautiously approached the felled beast before it burst into data bytes, the same sickly green data with repugnant odor from the first night he met Krystal. He frowned, biting his lip as he wondered what it all meant, Krystal reverting to a renamon as she and Amaya joined him. There was something seriously wrong about all this.
The sound of sirens cut his thought off quickly, as DRT personnel swarmed the scene, Azriel groaning and rubbing his face, “Of course they arrive just now.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” A familiar voice rang out, the two digimon and their tamers looking to Lieutenant Carmine.
Azriel groaned more, palm pressing to face as he let out a loud sigh, “This is just not our day.”
“You four again…of course it’s you four again!” She stomped up to them, glaring at Azriel, “Okay, why are you at the center of another rouge digimon attack!?”
Azriel sighed and shrugged, “Some divine force hates me? I don’t exactly ask all these rouge digimon to sneak in and try to kill me.”
Carmine’s glare hadn’t lessened, “And what about her!? She’s still unregistered!”
Krystal flinched, Azriel rubbing his head, “Okay yeah, that’s my bad…I’ve kept forgetting or putting it off.”
The DRT officer stamped her foot, “You know what I think…I think you’re lying to me! I don’t think she’s your digimon! I think she’s another rouge who crossed over and is helping all the others get in!”
The renamon flinched again, wilting beneath the accusations, tears starting to well up in her eyes. Azriel gave a curt cough, raising up his arm and showing off his digivice, “She is my digimon. And I seriously doubt she’s trying to help a bunch of psycho digimon come here and try to kill us.”
She blinked, cheeks flushing a deep red before she cleared her throat, “Oh…I see. Sorry…” she sighed and rubbed her face, looking to Krystal “I’m really sorry dear. Everyone’s been on my ass lately thanks to all these digimon sneaking through.”
She had bags under her eyes, and her eyes looked dried out. “Hey, it’s cool…I get it. No harm no foul, right Krystal?”
The renamon nodded, “Y…yeah.” She took a breath.
Carmine sighed, rubbing her face, “Great, the amnesiac is feeling sorry for me.” She took a breath, “But I’m sick and tired of you forgetting to register her. Come on, I’m making sure it happens today!”
Azriel shrugged, “Alright, come on Krystal. Amaya, we’ll meet you at home okay.”
She nodded, patamon fluttering into her arms as they headed for home, Carmine looking to the younger lady, “You sure she can walk home alone? I can have one of my guys drive her.”
“It’s not that far, it’s like literally 3 blocks or so, she’ll be fine.” He looked to Krystal, “Come on, let’s take care of this.” The renamon gave a quiet nod, following the officer to her car.
With the rouge digimon dealt with, there wasn’t much left for DRT to do, the officers cordoning off the parking lot. Hours passed, a few people coming and going, milling around the location of the battle but eventually it was left unnoticed or cared about. Which meant no one noticed or cared when wizarmon stepped into the area, looking it over.
The magic using digimon cocked his head to the side, “It looks like devidramon fought here…certainly seems like a lot of unnecessary destruction.” He crossed his arms, tilting his head to the other side, “But, no sign…was he defeated? Who could have managed that?” he sighed, looking up at the sky, “Things certainly are getting more complicated than they should.” He started walking, “Should find myself a place I can hide out until I can sort this whole mess. Oh, what did I do to deserve a day like this?”
**********
Azriel chuckled as he sat on his couch with his shirt off, grinning big as he looked at his official Tamer ID card. “Ah, good day today I think.”
“…we have vastly different ideas of what makes for a good day.” Amaya sighed, shaking her head as she gently pet patamon.
“Okay, so maybe we got a little scuffed up thanks to the flying jackass, but we found out I’m a tamer, Krystal is my digimon, meaning she can stay with us without worry. Plus, I proved that I’m a damn good tamer.”
“A damn good tamer wouldn’t have a massive bruise on his back!” Krystal snapped, pressing a bag of ice wrapped in a towel to the spot in question, “What were you thinking!?”
Azriel shrugged, “Angemon was down and that big bastard was moving in to finish him off. I had to do something. Little ball of lard’s to blame. Besides, it’s just a bruise.”
Patamon grumbled, “I wish I had fingers so I could flip you off you perv tamer.”
Krystal sighed, she knew it had been her fault…she lost it during the fight, going off into dream land which left angemon all alone, forcing Azriel to help. He’d gotten hurt because of her…again. She shook her head, dispelling the thoughts, knowing how the others would tell her not to blame herself.
Azriel chuckled, “Oh, and Ron’s stopping by in a few minutes to finally take care of my windshield. I hope Lua’s coming with him.” He got a dopey look on his face, “She’s real hot for a were gururumon.”
“I wish you had bruised that damn libido of yours.” Amaya sighed.
“Umm…patamon I’m curious.” The little digimon looked to Krystal, her head tilted to the side, “Why don’t you have a name.”
Patamon scoffed, “Human names are so weird. Digimon got along just fine without human names, and I don’t see a reason to change it.”
Azriel smirked, “He wasn’t fond of my name suggestions when Amaya first got him.”
Amaya huffed, “Fatbutt McFattington is NOT. A. NAME.”
Krystal had to suppress a giggle, eyes watering as she gave Azriel a smack to the back of the head. “It certainly fit him.”
A knock on the door drew their attention, Azriel getting up and opening it, “Ron! Finally.”
Ron was wearing a collared jacket over a black t-shirt, with torn jeans around his legs and a plain pair of shoes. He had medium length brown hair and black eyes, with a small line scar under the left one. Over all he looked like an average joe, with a bit of grizzle and gruffness mixed in. “Sorry about how long it took, but been a busy couple of weeks, only gonna get worse too with how many rouge digimon are coming through.” He looked at Azriel, pointing to the bruise, “Do I even want to know about that?”
“Just one of those rouge digimon giving me a little trouble.” The new tamer smirked, “Me and my renamon partner took care of it easy.”
“Renamon partner? Holy shit, that is a digivice.” Ron laughed as they went to Azriel’s car, “Wow, so a renamon huh? Guessing by that happy little shit grin of yours it’s a girl?” Azriel laughed, nodding, “Poor girl. Well Amaya should keep you in your place.” The mechanic looked over the vehicle, the windshield was done with of course, but he wanted to make sure nothing else was wrong with the thing. “Alright, it’s just the window…shit man, you really did have someone land on it.”
Azriel nodded, “Yeah, one hell of a way to meet my partner. But she’s pretty sweet, and she’s got a nice set of tits. Pretty good ass too actually.” He chuckled, looking around. “So, where’s Lua?”
“Ha, nice try dude, but you ain’t checking out her ass today.”
Azriel sighed, “Nuts. She looks so damn fine in those jeans.”
