I think this is the first time ever that Kat was annoyed visibly. I guess it takes personally offending her culture. What jerk would ask such a question!

I recall my time in Iraq, we had a monsoon season and after two weeks of flood rains, we saw brand new levels of hell. That super fine sand when wet, became VERY sticky gumming up machinery and worse, there WAS quicksand...I didn't know that was a thing, till I fell in it. Took me seven hours to get that crap out of my rifle
See, a fear of rain is totally understandable when you consider quicksands. And I'm certain you are still taking showers :P
Yes I'm aware you don't have a fear of rain. Saw an oppertunity. Anyways rain and other natural hazards can cause serious problems if you don't have equipment to handle it. As you kinda found out. You very much help to justify Kat here ^^

Still take showers, live for baths, and I like rain. Just not being in it. My grandfather was stationed in Hawaii during WWII, was struck by lightning twice! Hell it's in his military records, He was the only soldier with a memorandum that stated "No outside duty during rainy season or rain" So, I've also a mild fear of getting struck by lightning (I'm my late old man's clone)
Saw several buildings eat it to, the bricks in Iraq, are like sponges and absorb a portion of that. However, it rarely rains there so they never reinforced the foundation and we've had villages get washed out. Needless to say Army Engineers were loved for their work.
