Experimenting with some designs, and this is an older sketch that I've been meaning to doodle. I think I did the sketches for the jaw sometime around Halloween, though the succulents and crystals is a bit of a new idea.
I think the piece turned out pretty well. I'll definitely have to try more things like this! :D

It makes me want to find an old jawbone, and plant some succulents, or some air plants in it... from life comes the inevitable death, but from death comes life again, and so the cycle continues. The crystals are a beautiful touch, and the mandala behind, is just tying the endless circle of life together. It's really a very lovely piece. Is this a "still-life" or is it something that came from your mind? Either way, I know it came from your mind, but I'm just curious, if you drew this from life, or from the imagined?
Right?! Like... I really want to find some old bones and just start doing pretty things with them! Maybe start painting bones. Oh my goodness that would be so much fun!!!
And for sure! The duality of life and death and how nothing is actually seperate, because they're so intertwined, is definitely something I wanted to work with. I really like working with opposites that aren't really opposite. XD
Although I would love for this to be something I owned, nah, it's not something I have myself. More of something like "I have no idea where to put this, and this seems like the best category to put it in" XD Though doing more drawings from life would be fun. Especially if I had an art buddy! XD
