Ah, but it isn't 'laser!' x3 I kinda felt solid rounds would suffice in my Mecha story until till a certain point where beam weaponry was becoming more and more common. This would be equiped to either the left or right arm of the mech in use. If it is a beastial mech then it would have to be mounted to the back, or in the case of some one that has a shorter barrel could be placed in the mouth of the mech.

On humanoid mechs this is the bread and butter of the weapons they get, it standard, has decent firing speed, below decent ammunition capacity, and if you down an enemy mech you can stride up to the downed machine and feed it some lead up close and personal like. Down side: when it reachs zero ammo its more of a hinderance than a help. Enemy mechs can manuever in close, cut it to bits with their energy sword(s) then carve the mech up like a thanksgiving turkey. Most pilots discard it as soon as it reaches a certain point in the ammo count and switch to sub weapon like a machine-gun or simple get in close quarters.

I guess i went into a too in-depth explination, -shrugs- i guess since i did have almost 5 stories in which this weapon made an appearance i am entitled to know how it should and shouldn't be used. Anyhow, Good weapon when used in the right hands
