Grown-ups' rules are sometimes hard to understand for a little one like Sigrún. Why should we go down a staircase slowly, step by step, stair by stair, when there's so much faster - and funnier! - way to do it: just SLIDE it down! ^.^
By doing it this way, you can get downstairs very quickly - and your caretaker won't have to wait for you very long after calling you. And that's a lot of fun - exactly what you need the most during such boring days like this (and like most winter days here where Sigrún lives), when there's freezing cold, sleet storms every hour and very strong wind outside, and you have to stay home.
Of course, sliding a handrail so fast can be dangerous - so Sigrún holds it very strongly to not fall down. It could be an even faster way to go downstairs, but probably a bit painful too ^^'
