Celestia speaks true to me. It wasn't her fault that no pony adored Luna in the way they did her, Luna's jealousy turned inward and drove her to the madness that brought about her banishment. Celestia was forced to do what she did and regretted it for a thousand moons.

There is no proof that celestia even cared. She could have stopped lunas fall from grace. No one loved her. Not even her own sister. Celestia could have ended her sisters suffering by showing her love and compassion instead of ignorance and neglect. It was Celestias fault luna fell for she had every opprotunity to stop it.

How do you know that Celestia don't do anything to prevent it? Maybe she already tried. But it all failed. Maybe Luna was blind by jealous and don't listen to Celestia at all and Celestia don't know how to solve it. She can't just force every ponies to love her sister after all. That why she tried so hard to love her sister and hope her love is enough to satisfy her. She even make a two thrones for it. So they could rule together as equal. Side by side on the same level of thrones...

The show didn't show about it. We don't know much about the past. We don't know if Celestia is really be that ignored. What the show only said is that "The elder sister tried to reason with her, But the bitterness in the young one's heart. Had transformed her into...A wicked mare of darkness!"

This is her sister we talking about. The only alicorn she have. Do you really think Celestia didn't love her at all? Do you really think she didn't care for her? The person who stand by her side and fight against so many past villain together?

If Celestia didn't care than what is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy7jyw7WABw ? Luna's banishment as seen in the show, she's very clearly crying. Even before hand Celestia tried to talk to her, Luna physically attacked.

Ultimately, while it is possible that Celestia may have ignored her sister's feelings it is also possible that Luna never told Celestia about them. Which would not be out of character for her. We can observe a similar situation in "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep" in which Luna reveals the Tantabus, which she created out of guilt as a form of self punishment. Luna had been back since season one and there had been no mention of it between her return and that episode, likely meaning that Luna kept it to herself.

Furthermore if we bring up the IDW comics, some of the time after her banishment is talked about extensively, during which time Celestia is grieving the loss of her sister.

The truth does hurt and in this depiction it was RIGHT after the fact. Those are words spoken in anger and pain. But lets not argue over an artists interpretation yes?
