Yeah. After arrow died, we went and got rats, which is the female one I talked about previously. Two males and a female. Well, the female get's pregnant and only three survived the birth. The one I picked turned out to be albino. But one time, it was my brother's job to feed our rats since we take turns feeding them and he didn't....forcing the mother to feed her young by sacrificing herself, allowing her young to eat her brains. it was a disgusting sight >.<
so a myth. I have been breeding and raising rats for five years and have been breeding rodents for far longer then that. I hold them one a day every day. None of our mothers are aggressive or worried about it. In fact they look forward to it because they get treats while I take pictures of the babies.
Granted if these were pet store rats or wild rats they would attack my hands... maybe get too upset and end up eating or harming the babies as a result of being upset, but all of my breeding females and males are from other breeders and have been handled since they the day they were born as well.
No worries.
