The Darkshards are a criminal gang based on Cathedral Heights, Washington D.C. They engage Extortion, Prostitution (though they tend to veer away from forced prostitution), Drug Trafficking, Protection Rackets and Arms trafficking. They were formed in 2031, and yet they managed to fully take over Cathedral Heights in just 3 years. They have expanded their territory in other neighborhoods, but have since stopped for the time being. As of the current timeline, 2038, they number in over 600 members. Despite their rather small numbers, few rival gangs challenge them due to fear of their members possessing "unnatural talents".

* Malthasar von Schattenburg : One of Malekai's many cousins, and one of 7 who joined him during his takeover of Cathedral Heights. He, like the other six of his cousins, joined Malekai more for money, for their parents had gotten tired of spoiling them. Although the other six are loyal to Malekai, Malthasar has frequently voiced his displeasure over Malekai's running of the Darkshards and acting insubordinate. Consequently, this would often find him "disciplined" for his insolence. Cruel, vicious, smug and an utter slimeball, he is hated by nearly all members of the Darkshards (save for his henchperson, Trotz).

* Keron Ganz : The oldest member of the Darkshards by 86 years (though in a dinosaurs lifespan, he is still in his late 40's) and the most loyal and deadliest of Malekai's minions, despite lacking the "gifts" that his master and master's cousins possess. Throughout Keron's life, he has spent his years training to be a deadly weapon, even spending nearly a decade in China training in martial arts. When he is sent to eliminate his targets, he does so without hesitation. He will not waste time talking, he won't leave his targets to catch a breathe, he won't stop until his targets are dead. Originally a captain of House Domitius' security in Kaltenstadt, he was hired by Malekai after he was dismissed from service. The normally stone-faced and emotionless Ganz reportedly shouted in joy after being dismissed, as he found being under the employ of Malekai's mother, Morgause, to be a nightmare. He currently leads the Darkshards in the absence of his master.

* Eva Köhler : Malekai's spymaster, and co-leader of the Darkshard's with Keron during Malekai's absence. She is 40 years old, though in a dragon's lifespan, this means she's still in her early 20's. She originally served in the US military, but after being dishonorably discharged, she spent her time afterwards as a security guard for wealthy employers. After being hired by Malekai, she was given the role of spymaster (a role she proved to be very skillful at). Secretly, she has a crush on Malekai (something that even the seductive Malekai is unaware of) and holds a deep grudge on her master's girlfriend for even having a relationship with. Is neutral to Keron, hateful (like everyone else) towards Malthasar and yet very fond of Trotz.

* Trotz Groß : Despite his threatening appearance, Trotz is really just a big-softie (and one who is dim and absent-minded, even when being insulted). Unnaturally strong but often lacks the will to be violent. He is Malthasar's loyal henchperson, despite Malthasar's unbearable personality. Trotz remains at Malthasar's side majorly because he see's him as a friend, while his employer see's him as being useful enough due to his size and strength, despite basically being a minion with an F+ in evil.
