Driving this road down to paradise
Letting the sunlight into my eyes
Our only plan is to improvise
And it's crystal clear
That I don't ever want it to end
If I had my way I would never leave
Keep building these random memories
Turning our days into melodies
But since I can't stay
I'll just keep playing back
These fragments of time
Everywhere I go
These moments will shine
Lyrics lifted from one of Cel's (and my) favorite musical artist duos, Daft Punk from their song Fragments of Time. Might not work for international.
Sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and let your ears take you on a journey; no screens, no distraction, leaving you free to enjoy the weaving guidance of an artist as they lead you through a glimpse into their imagination. Zera in a more contemporary setting definitely is one to appreciate time like this. Often you can become so busy the music in your ears becomes nothing but another sound meant to drown out the drone of life around you; and while you might hear, you never really listen. Lounging back on a couch wearing simple, light clothing, Zera gets comfy in her free time. Clothing is such a tricky thing for her species to wear without piercings. In this case the problem has been solved by cushioned magnets. It's effective enough for this situation. Luckily custom headphones for long ears aren’t too uncommon in this setting. Perhaps she is waiting for someone, or thinking of someone, as memories come back with each melody. Though most likely it’s just her enjoying the fact she has these moments to herself, listening to fragments of time in between the moments of life.
A fantastic image by Cel, which certainly showcases their skill at figure work and grasping strange anatomy at tough angles. Not to mention their great work at outfit designs and shading. I absolutely love the shape and proportions of Zera’s head and face in this image. It’s a very tough angle to pull off well and Cel knocked it out of the park. It’s one of my favorite interpretations of Zera and definitely a model for how she might look in a contemporary modern setting. She looks so natural and relaxed at home, even her wings are posed so casually. While her clothing design is a little light and skimpy, it’s mostly out of necessity with her unusual anatomy. It certainly looks comfortable! Thank you so much Cel!
Even if some of what they do is not entirely to your tastes, they can do such a great variety of things I highly encourage anyone to check the artist out!
Please fave and comment on the original here as well!

This may sound odd but I want to thank you for the descriptions on your pictures. I looked through your gallery today and read most of them along the way (I read quickly when I'm in that zone). It was, and is, refreshing to see someone put such effort into the descriptions. So many artists and commissioners I watch say so very little about their images or nothing at all.
It's not odd at all, in fact I must thank you for making me feel that effort is worth it. It's a part of why I am so behind uploading things but I feel it's my chance to add a little something of my own to an image, and I enjoy providing some context or explaining details. I can't claim any of the descriptions are masterpieces but I do enjoy trying to write something for each one even if almost nobody really seems to read them. This little bit of encouragement certainly helps!
Wow I love the style and the artists take on Zera, I've always been a huge fan of dragon types in a realistic/modern setting, I really think it's criminally underdone. I really like how the headphones are designed as if specifically for the ears, I always like seeing how artists alter the designs of objects to better suit a non-human character.
Great stuff as always.
Great stuff as always.
Cel, the artist, can really do some amazing things. Certain subject matter and themes are definitely stronger points for them but I've been incredibly impressed with the variety they can do and I have enjoyed challenging them a bit. This really did come out as one of the better things they have done with how natural and casual it feels. And you're right, that was an inventive and wonderful touch with the headphones. Really great job for only the second time working on Zera and awesome work making her look like she fits right in the modern world.
Glad you like it!
