Your burds are so amazing and I love them forever, but oh my gosh THOSE ROCKS
Those rocks are like, hyper good looking oh my goodness. I've been just peering over then for minutes trying to see wut you did.
But aside from that insanity, I love your bird faces. So narrow and full of mico details. It's really awesome knowing your passion for avians and how it reflects in your artwork. It's very endearing <3

Thank you! I played with the technique on those rocks a bunch. I think that I started with dark color shapes then used a customized scatter brush with brightness jitter, a touch of hue jitter, and size/angle jitter, using different colors for face, shadowed parts. Then I used an oil medium brush (kind of a perforated rhomboid rough shape) to sharpen the edges. The thing that finally made it convincing was just putting those dark lines, using that same brush. Hopefully I can repeat that in the future cuz it did turn out pretty nice.
