I got bored so here’s a new OC, she’s a living stuffed animal. Name undecided. She is the prototype of a mass-production model that never saw full production because of rising controversy over the ethical and legal implications of making and selling living toys. she gets lonely very easily and craves physical affection.

firstly, her existence isn't down to genetics, she's stuffed animal, cloth and stuffing. her alive-ness was made using an nondescript combination of technology and hocus-pocus magic.
secondly, they can't euthanize her because she is the only example of her kind and euthanasia would be a whole ethical/legal battle in of itself, not to mention killing her would reflect very poorly on the company that made her. As for ownership, she is technically the legal property of the company that commissioned her production. They can't destroy her, but they also can't risk letting her design fall into the hands of their competitors.
She docent need to eat, so the company keeps her in a guarded storage room in the research and development department at HQ to keep her safe and well monitored.
