"Call me deluded, call me a fool.
What need have I, to trust in you-
these rusted words, my clichéd tool.
Take me somewhere old and pretend it's new.
A place displaced from dismal truth-
a buried fragment of forlorn youth.
Where every color is another view
of a landscape bathed in iridescent hue."
Well, I haven't posted anything in a while (for my tastes at least) and, well... that's probably going to be the trend more than the exception. I don't have much inspiration these days, and when I do, it's just... heavy, more heavy than I really care for. I've taken to art of late just to get the taste of this kind of poetry out of my mouth for a while, but tonight I felt like finishing something I'd had laying around for a couple weeks. And my art is far, far too terrible to post on a consistent basis (not that I actually finish anything), so I may be on a protracted hiatus. I'm sure that's not a big deal to anyone, but I figured I might as well be honest about it, since just a few weeks ago I was preaching about how productive I'd be this year. I WILL be, hopefully, just not in areas that really involve FA at the moment.
As such, I think a lot of my stifled creativity poured into this piece. I wanted it to, as I wanted it to with Effigy. I dunno, I figure if I'm gonna write stuff like this, it might as well be decent, as opposed to some of my older, rant-ier stuff. It's probably too heavy for your casual browser, but then I don't think most of those people read my stuff anyway. It certainly has that tl;dr look to it often times. I find myself doing the same sometimes, so I can certainly understand.
Anyway, thanks for reading, skimming, or just clicking if that's as far as you got (I guess they wouldn't see that.) Comments/critique welcome as always. Maybe I'll try to do one "focused" poem a month or so, so I keep the wheel churning a little bit, we'll see. I already blew off homework to finish this poem, I probably shouldn't get in the habit of that. Oh well, it was a stupid assignment anyway. 'Til next time.
