Continuing this final "Throwback Thursday" of January, 2017, I have the second of three last 'photo-ops' - taken at Veterans' Park in Lauderhill, Florida - during the "28th Annual Scrabble Club Awards" (held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017)...
I had received another award that night, by reaching a personal milestone in the 10+ years I'd been a member of Scrabble Club 276: namely, the '250 Plateau Award' (for winning 250 games throughout my membership). Other 'Plateau Awards' were given out to Scrabble(R) players in our club, who eventually won 100 games, 500 games, 1,000 games, and 2,000 games throughout they own tenure.
In this digital picture taken with club president Sandee Bloom's camera, I share the stage with two other '250 Plateau Award' recipients. From left to right, we have Gerry, Marshall, and Jed (yours truly).
FOOTNOTE: Between that night, and the first Scrabble Club 276 meeting of 2017 (on January 4th), I didn't win a single game. This should give you an idea of why it took me over a decade to earn such a dubious award. At this pace, I probably won't get a '500 Plateau Award' until the middle of the 2020s!
This 'photo-op' (and other like them, currently in my 'Gallery') will eventually be transferred to my 'Scraps' section, effective July, 2017.
