Picking up from where I'd left off last "Throwback Thursday", I have the first of three more 'photo-ops' - taken at Veterans' Park in Lauderhill, Florida - during the "28th Annual Scrabble Club Awards" (on Wednesday, January 11, 2017)...
One of the regular features of the annual ceremony is the bestowing of a 'gift' to all Scrabble Club 276 members (who, at least, played a minimum of 64 games during the entire past year). Past gifts included T-shirts, mouse pads, plush figures, and reusable tote bags. This year's 'gift' was a blue plastic clipboard with a ruler on the edge of its back side (which seems impractical, since the clip on the front side might prevent one from proper measuring)!
Anyway, I'd joined two other members, following the presentation of the "Bamdinger Award" (for coming up with one or more words - during the course of a Scrabble(R) game - that scores 100 or more points). I'd lucked out by coming up with my only 'Bamdinger' during one of the last meetings in December, 2016... The word was EXCUSED, which earned me 103 points (and a prize for coming up with the 'highest scoring word' containing a 'natural X tile' that particular night)!
From left to right, showing off our awards - attached to our respective clipboards - we have Jed (moi), Cheryl, and Fred!
More digital photos from club president Sandee Bloom, yet to come. These 'photo-ops' will remain in my 'Gallery' until July, 2017, when they are transferred to my 'Scraps' section...
