A sentient species from the realm of Lodi's original story; these are the Te-Nerehm.

Generally referred to as a 'wandering root', these creatures are made entirely of plant material, thriving on their home planet lush with forests. Nurturing and tending to the planet, and being connected to the planet itself, their natural telepathic abilities are somehow amplified through the planet as if it were a galactic radar. This allows them to watch and observe the galaxy at large. Using the nature of other touched planets to extend further, these ancient beings are known for their wisdom and guidance to those whom seek it and are judged worthy of council.

All known Roots are female, each one carrying an ever-growing living library of plant life both past and present. This has led to more ambitious individuals to their planet seeking to capture and harvest one. However, none who have ventured to the planet with ill-will have ever been heard from again. Scavengers have been known to find exotic craft and gear seemingly abandoned on the surface.
