I remember an episode of the TV sitcom "Home Improvement," where Tim had said something stupid (again) and his wife Jill wasn't talking to him. He bought a bunch of flowers and tried to apologize to her, but she wouldn't even look at them. "I know what it is anyway," Jill said.
