Fight me! :P What do you study in particular? I've got some nice materials on Fiore and Lichtenauer's tradition myself. I do like the German systems a bit.

Same German systems are very to the point (mind the pun) :P no faffing around, just the quickest way to disable or 'kill' an apponent lol

I'm not a HEMA person--I'm a SCAdian instead, but our interests coincide lots! I went the rapier route due to physical limitations, but swords are made of win either way.

I've dabbled in rapier, you've gota have some crazy strong wrists for that! :D Swords are pretty fun to play with either way lol

For sure. It's good for artists/typists because it helps keep the muscles active there and staves off carpal tunnel. It's less punishing than HEMA, though. The impact of HEMA and SCA Heavy List is pretty darn intense, too. All in all, swords are made of win--there's no downside. :D
