Contempt of Carpet YCH (horizontal) example
[Status of this offering is: Open]
My first "Your Character Here" offering,
Inspired in part by the "DeShoozed" series commissions, and a brief shot four seconds into this Home Depot commercial for their line of "Life Proof" stain-resistant carpets, this one is a little bit different from the YCH's of other artists. For one, it is entirely G-rated :D (made possible by my particular collection of watchers)
---Nitty-gritty specifics below the backstory---
Backstory:
The practice of leaving one's shoes at the door upon entering a dwelling is most often associated with Japan, but is practiced in other parts of the world, on an individual basis moreso than being 'enforced' by custom. If comments on YouTube are to be believed, most Westerners who do observe the practice are incredulous at the very notion that anyone would not do this, much like Europeans expressing amazement that the US doesn't require mastery of a manual transmission to acquire a driver's license here.
These two pictures, as well as any others that follow as commissions, serve as a rather exaggerated affirmation of the reason for this custom to exist, but also as an expression of the fantasy of doing something "naughty" and "forbidden", illustrated by most of the other mudplay-themed pictures I've done (and have yet to draw).
Of course, one of the reasons for YCH's to exist is to remove much of the guesswork (and some of the time required) involved in processing a commission, and this one is no different. I have created two templates depicting indoor scenes near an entrance door, where I can depict your character absent-mindedly, accidentally or deliberately tracking mud across the light-colored carpet, just like "Henry" in the Home Depot ads. If response is good, I can try adding the backdrop of "Bringing the Outside In" as a third choice of setting.
So, what are the specifics?
--This YCH is comprised of: A Single male or female character, drawn via paper & pencil (so it can appear in a future "weekly ink and pencil" post) digitally inked and cel-shaded, to be inserted into one of the two provided scenes.
--Pricing:
---Vertical ( example) $30USD
---Horizontal (pictured): $35USD (because I have to add the trail of footprints, customized to the character's footwear
--Payment: payable upon approval of pose and pencils. I can now take PayPal*, other arrangements can be made if you cannot use that (but they do tend to be pricey).
*--PayPal payments add $1.20 (vertical) or $1.36 (horizontal)
--I'd prefer that the character canonically wears shoes of some kind, being that half the naughtiness aspect is the character muddying up his/her "good" shoes before barging into the house.
--Mud coverage on the character is limited to knees (like in the commercial) down to the examples pictured. The look I'm aiming at is more like "youthful indiscretion", rather than "complete natural disaster".
--Some expressions/poses to consider:
---The character realizes what they just did and stops short in horror
---Surprise that they've been caught in the act.
---They're blissfully unaware they're tracking mud inside
---Or, they know and simply don't care
--Duration: open-ended, provided the traffic doesn't substantially interfere with my attempts to catch up on personal pieces, in which case new accepts will be put on hold.
This image: pencil on bristol inked in Krita, backdrop drawn in Micrografx Picture Publisher, combined with the latter, 134MB at full size.
Also, Cynthia is wearing Buffalo trainers, something like these
