Back Seats Interior (week 1)
Again, since I've not been able to get the back doors open as rust has seized the lock and it no longer responds to the door handles this is about as bad as it was the day I saw her. BUT to fight the smell I've put Borax powder in the back to chase off the bugs and kill the stink. That in tandem with the Lavender Scented Baby oil to refurbish the plastics and the Vaseline and Odoban seem to be doing the trick famously! But don't think I've given up on those back doors yet cause just the other day I saw a penny in there on the floor!!! CASSANDRA'S FORTUNE SHALL BE MINE >: U
lol on a side note if anyone knows how to get a door open that's rusted shut, I'm all ears! And Hair o.o Ears and hair

I know right!?!! What could be better!? It's a wide comfortable seat and if I'm driving with a gf (BecauseinthisfantasyIhaveone) we could be all snuggled close while we drive or if I'm coming come from work dog tired I can spread out a bit and chill out! Plus think of all the space for taking friends to fur cons!! lol who needs cup holders when you've got passengers and inner thighs! To me it's more than a fair trade!
I'm assuming you've tried opening them from the inside too? lol
See this is the stuff I mean. It might hurt you to do so, but I think you'd be surprised how much better all that ratted out fabric will look with some trimming. Like if you just neatled trimmed away that fabric where it's rolled back and just hanging.. rather then looking rated and rotten it'll just look ripped. Honestly I think the nastiest part on her is up there in the rear window. I remember seeing that through the back window in your video. Looks totally water logged and disgusting!

YEEEEEEEEAH it's in a bit of a state up there, and the metal around the back window is full of holes. That's going to need some patching. And yeah I've tried the inside too. You can pull the handle, depress and pull the lock button back up, and press the button outside on the handle but the doors will not budge one iota! Dad say's the locking mechanism inside is froze so I'm going to look up some tutorials online for how to address that. But cleaning back there (and getting that Penny >.> ) are high up on my list of parts of this Restoration. I really want to assess the condition back there!
Oh wow, jeez... I wonder how she could have been leaking in so much water like that. You're sure her floorboard and stuff are alright? They're not rotted out? It'll be good to get out on a cement floor free of snakes and other dangers and get a good look at that belly and those boobies *punched by Caleb* x.x and see what the rust is like down there.
Hmmm.. I gotta wonder if it would be easy enough, that if you got some rust eater in a bottle that has one of those straws like WD-40 has.. and just sprayed it in the crack of the door where the latch is and work it.. if you'd work it loose. Also I've been needing to say it, don't really rely on WD-40 for your rust problems. I think its more of a lubricant then anything else. Get yourself some PB Blaster, that stuff works great on rusty bolts and nuts. http://image.truckinweb.com/f/18714.....pb_blaster.jpg

I think I found a small shoe sized hole in her passenger side floor board but I think the rest is solid. I mean I'm 250 and I've been stepping and moving around in there without any problems.
Yeah I've been waiting to get some PB but Walmart's weirdly been sold out for two weeks now! And I think that's a good idea! When I CAN pick some up I think I'll try to hit in all the major joints of the rear door on the Driver's side and give it a shot. If not I'll be unscrewing the door and hefting it out of the way to open it up and fix AND clean out that interior!
