Cassandra's Broadside (week 1)
Here's a Broadside look at Cassandra after my first week of having her. I've not done too much external cleaning yet as my focus has been on interior work while I save up for my big February push in her restoration. I just wanted to keep all you awesome people who're interested in Cassandra's story and her fate as well as my progress in the loop! Thank you all for your wonderful support! Thank you Ian for your awesome fanart! And, since I'm making this into a series for youtube, if any of you want to do fanart for Cassandra I'll feature it in the episode on youtube! Just give me a link if you want to do something like that!

The chrome and class is in pretty good shape actually. Oh man, dude I don't know if you remember driving around in cars with those fold out cigarette windows but man.. you're going to be in love with those if her AC isn't got working before summer. The sheer amount of cool air those things can blow onto you is amazing.. you don't even really need AC with those things.. I have NO idea why they stopped making those on cars.
Yeah in Florida if the AC doesn't work given my fondness of wearing leather I'm going to need all the air I can get! I think my family's 2006 Honda Accord has the wings like that still. And if I'd hazard to guess I'd say they stopped making them either because it was cutting into possible profits or as a stop smoking campaign move. Though Buddy told me when he bought her, her AC still worked so I'm hoping that it can me made serviceable in my repair efforts!
I've never seen any wing windows on any Honda Accord I've ever seen! Or ANY modern car for that matter.
I honestly don't even know how much those windows were synonymous with cigarettes. That's just one of the slang terms. But they're so useful. Turn them open just a little bit with an angle like \ and they'll force cool air right in and onto you, or turn them all the way out like / and they'll suck out all the air in the car. Then you can even mess with combinations like having one sucking air in and then position the passenger one pulling air in and create your own fanless fresh-air circulation!
Well it working when she was parked doesn't really mean shit. : P

Really? I know a few of our more recent ones did, but the way to open them was odd and didn't have cranks. It was like a little twisty thing right on the window part itself. And yeah I love those things! lol I didn't as a kid though because that blast of air was right in my face so I couldn't open my eyes right and one time it sucked a wasp onto the car and smacked me with it XD though in fairness the wasp wasn't too happy about that either nor did he recover too quickly from it!
lol well true but it gives me hope that it might be saveable!

Like this: http://images.thesamba.com/vw/galle.....pix/949646.jpg That's the latch type I've always known. Mitzi's is like that, and my dad's old Dodge had ones just like that. In fact I remember that Dodge, the passenger door had a little trash cloth bag on a string and the string looped around that latch.
Lol I guess you didn't know about how to turn them away from your face huh? lol. You know what's funny? When I was a little kid I used to always ride in the car like a dog, I'd lay up and stick my head out the window. XDDD
I think you might of misunderstood me there heh. I meant it probably doesn't work now.

lol that's another link that 404s me Dude. Sorry. But yeah it's probably the latch thing if that's the one you hit the button on it then twist the plastic arm and push outwards.
XD Oh man I would've gotten badly annoyed by that because as a kid I hated getting my hair messed up XD
lol no I understand what you meant, my hopes are there's still life left in it and it's not lost to time.
AH lol so you're where that mystery comment came from

lol easy with the language buddy. And yeah that looks almost like it. The one's I've seen of late look more like https://spydersden.files.wordpress......ent-window.jpg where the lever arm is right at the edge of the glass.
