The welded spang skull.
Crappy, messy welds.
Shaping isn't too bad, but theres a few deformities I can see.
Next step is to grind and sand it all down smooth, and rivet on the bands to cover the welds.
Then I get to design the sides, grill and back.
Its in 12 gauge mild steel, so its pretty heavy and substantial.

I clean joints for welding or soldering obsessively.
I actually have over 35 years of experience working metal...Its just electric welding thats new to me.
(I've been silver soldering and some gas welding for decades.)
I have a gas welder set, but have been lazy about getting oxygen and acetylene tanks for it.
