This was a forgotten sketch I found in an old file. A few years ago I got assigned to counting parked cars in Little Tokyo near Los Angeles, and I was amused and inspired by a young lady shopkeeper across the street fom my observation post. After closing time, she came out of her shop and was wondering what I was doing. I explained my task, and suddenly she started "Dancing" and acting like there was an unseen partner with her. It didn't look to me like she was practicing Tai Chi either. I asked her what was going on, and she explained that there was a red dragonfly buzzing around her, and she was trying to get the insect to land on her. "If a red dragonfly lands on you, it means good luck." She explained. Her lithe and practiced motions reminded me of a ferret for some reason. Too bad I couldn't work up the courage to chat with her further.
...And I thought it was Green Dragonflies that brought wealth and good fortune. Oh well.

Thanks. It's the first time I've ever drawn an Oriental Dragon, and I feel he turned put okay. I made him a "Lesser" Dragon as indicated by his four fingered hands... Claws? But I figure since he's in my Anthropomorphic Animal world where most the critters have four digits on their "Phands," I figure that makes him a "Greater" Dragon.
