That must have been one of the Makado's they had working on the hetch hetchy line.
The #6 Shay for that run is over in El' Portal, Next to Yosemites west entrance on 140.
Those standard guage shays are Huge.. Makes the ones I run look like toys.
Im going to have to resurect my camera and start taking picks again, as I miss doing so.

I'd love to see more rail related pics from you. The GE burried in snow you currently have in your gallery is great!

That was from 1 day of snow at work :( It was falling soo fast that 2 plow trucks running could barely keep the accumulation at bay for the acre of driveways and parkinglots. I tried to get my old digital camera working, but it seems the display is shot (Or the chip is not recieving any light.) Old 5 MP argus. And I just resurected my old k1000 pentax to start shooting again. (It still works with a new pen battery for the light meter) Ive never had a bad shot with that biult in light meter, if I shoot within the range.

Cool! I'd love to see some behind the scenes shots of the GE or inside the shop.

That Pentax is a great camera, tough, all metal innards, and works without batteries (other than the mentioned light meter).
