In reality this locomotive probably did not have such a photograph taken of itself during it's service life. Tin type plates were superseded by gelatin emulsion dry plates in the 1880s. That's not to say tin wasn't used later, but their cheapness and poor tone range relegated the form to beach and itinerant photographers. Kodak for instance, had introduced the Brownie in 1900 so you can get an idea what would have been available from 1922 on.
I'll chock this up just to having fun with Silver Efex Pro and it's totally not accurate :)
