Sorta could be either the fringe of a jungle or perhaps a nice oasis in a Savana type setting, either way this is the first time I've tried to make backgrounds of this caliber in PhotoShop by just winging it. XDD

Normally for backgrounds I most likely would have cheated and tried to cook something up in sketchup and then filter the fuck out of it with photoshop but.... I can't always do that and expect good results soooooo... had to put on my big girl panties and test the muds the hard way. XDD

The grassy parts were the easiest as every copy of photoshop, all the way pack to version 4 had some kind of grass brush shape as a default package, so yeah, WOOO photoshop grass! :veryhapppy:

The second most easy thing done was the fuzzy horizon and sky line, with the third most difficult part being the background mountain range.

By far the most challenging, in terms of color appearance were the near ground trees.... Oi... trees aren't that easy to fake... even in photoshop... but thankfully free form shapes saved my ratty tail, allowing me to make some tree trunks out of tapered cylinders, and then warped or bent a bit to seem more organic and hey presto... insta... of not very quickly done... custom pho-shop background! 8D

Next thing I gotta try is some kind of desert setting, with mild low height sand dunes, and all those effects that goes with deserts.

Yet another background type I need to learn how to, would be muddy environments, because tanks aren't the cleanest of machines which Yuki pilots around. XDD

So to those whom have a better eye for story settings, mind chucking some creative criticisms my way? I can't really take the next step as an artist if I'm only gonna stick with character drawings solely... I gotta make some settings and environments too, so I gots to know if this looks decent enough? :D
