Yes, I know...yet ANOTHER negative...it's another detail from the same fountain as the previous photo, and I felt that this conveys all the detail and softness of the figures much better than just the plain white one

Interesting! The negative hues remind me of the colours in certain paintings by Ernst Fuchs.

I was thinking in particular of his mid-1960s work. A good example would be "Job and the Judgement of Paris" -- a scan is available at http://www.ernstfuchs-zentrum.com/b8e.html, which completely fails to do the drawing justice but will give some idea of its colour scheme.

It is (I've been playing with it for hours). I'm amazed how well inverting can bring out details of sculptures and make photos look more interesting.

Believe me, I KNOW THE FEELING...I just put a stop to myself because I was seriously overdoing it, but I'm glad that someone else agrees on the powers of negative^^
