Here is the character bio for my character Matilda's new superhero alter-ego "Blitz Strike".

Abilities: Skilled athlete and martial artist. Magical sapphire gem specially attuned to Matilda’s bloodline that gives the ability to generate, absorb and project highly energized blasts of lightning.

Background:
Matilda is the daughter of billionaires Bruce and Samantha Clawson; owners of Clawson Incorporated, the largest and most successful law firm in the United Saurian Republic (USR). Her family’s wealth has never gone to Matilda’s head and isn’t snobby because of it. She does however have a bit of tomboyish attitude most of the time. She isn’t a “girly girl” and doesn’t like to wear fancy dresses or skirts. However, she’s not afraid to flaunt her sexy athletic body when she wants to. Unfortunately, throughout her life she has had to deal with many “suitors” who she felt only liked her for her family’s money. Coming from a wealthy family she did learn how to defend herself as she grew up, and Matilda found she had natural talent for martial arts and always pushed her limits to improve herself. But she has had her share of “kidnapped for ransom” situations throughout her life so far but surprising she never developed any emotional scars because of it. Growing up, Matilda always insisted on going to a public school rather than some preppy private one. So, she attended and graduated from her local Saur City High School alongside her best friend Amber (female Allosaurus) as well as Mark (male Allosaurus) and Andy (male Ankylosaurus). Now in her mid-20’s Matilda is attending Saur City University alongside her childhood friends. She is studying for a law degree so that she can join in the “family business”. She also plays on the college girls’ volleyball team and is currently in a loving relationship with the T-Rex quarterback of the American football team, Terry.

Aside from a few misadventures with her friends here and there, Matilda felt she was living the dream. But it was during one winter vacation in Colmaton, USA that her life began to change in ways she never imagined. The SCU cheerleader squad (who Matilda’s friend Amber is a member of) had won a holiday vacation to Colmaton after winning a national championship competition. But one of the squad members got sick and Matilda was invited to take her spot. Having never traveled to Colmaton before, she was excited to go and visit the “Heroine City”. Matilda had heard how big the Bureau of Superheros (BOS) was in Colmaton but was curious to see it for herself. The USR, like many UN nations, had signed the Superhero Relations Act and had national headquarters of the BOS in Saur City. The USR had its own share of BOS superheroes but none as famous as the ones in Colmaton so Matilda was eager to go. But the excitement and fun times quickly faded for her a few days into their vacation when Colmaton showed to have a darker side as well.

One afternoon, after enjoying a day of seeing the sights, Matilda and her friend Amber were suddenly kidnapped from their hotel room by a dangerous criminal called Sharpfury. Matilda had put up a good fight before Sharpfury put one of his knives to Amber’s throat and threatened to hurt her if Matilda didn’t calm down and behave. Not wanting to see her friend get hurt, she submitted and both of the girls were then chloroformed into unconsciousness. Fortunately for them, one of their friends witnessed Sharpfury escaping with them and immediately ran to the local BOS and explained what she had saw. When Matilda regained consciousness, she saw that they had been taken to some industrial warehouse by their captor. She quickly noticed that she had been tied to support beam, bound and gagged and had been stripped down to only her lingerie. As she looked to her right she noticed that Amber was in the same situation as her and that their street clothes were laying across from them in a pile near a few storage crates. Having privately studied a bit of escape-artistry, Matilda quickly tried to get to work getting herself loose but was very surprised by how thoroughly she was bound. But her attention quickly changed to the gigantic, eye-patched lion who kidnapped them as he smiled saying how some rich “benefactor” wanted them for his personal harem and had been hired to keep them “comfortably tied up” until delivery. As he moved around in between them he gloated saying how lucky the girls were that his client had ordered them to be delivered only wearing their underwear, otherwise he would have stripped them naked by now. Matilda blushed and struggled for all she could as she felt one of his hands start fondling her right breast swearing to fight this no matter what. But to her fortune, she saw one of the warehouse doors explode open and two masked heroines charge inside, who would later identify themselves as Ranger and Lady Liberty. After a very brief fight Sharpfury somehow managed to escape but Matilda and Amber had been successfully rescued. Thankful for the rescue, Matilda thanked them both and started to wonder if she might ever be that heroic.

It would find out that at the end of that same school year, right before summer break that she would discover the answer. Her grandfather, Henry Clawson, had become deathly ill and it was on his deathbed when he privately called for Matilda. Saddened by her beloved grandfather’s condition, Matilda sat at his side when Henry gave her a secret family heirloom. A box that contained palm sized flat sapphire gem that Henry said contained mystic powers. Matilda was skeptical at first but was surprised when the gem began to emit small electric energy as soon as she touched it. Her grandfather went on to say that gem had been passed down throughout the generations to those “deemed worthy” and that family legend said that the gem had been a gift to one of their ancestors by a “powerful sorcerer” back in the mythic days of old. Also, that the gem granted members of their bloodline who wore it the ability to control lightning and electricity. While he never admitted if he knew if that was true, he made Matilda promise that, if the legend was true, that she would only use its powers for good. While she was unsure about the legend she promised that she would.

But the day after her grandfather’s funeral, she decided to keep the gem with her wherever she went, if for nothing else than to “carry her grandfather with her”. She instantly noticed strange electrical disturbances all around her. She noticed that she gained the ability to absorb, control and even project electrical energy whenever she was somehow wearing the gem but lost those abilities if she wasn’t. Realizing that she now had been given a chance to great things and help people, she found new purpose and vowed to keep her grandfather’s promise no matter what. She was mature and responsible enough to realize that she could not do this journey alone so she spoke with her childhood friend Andy, who agreed to help her by designing and making the first version her superhero uniform. Matilda also realized that she would need to learn how to control her new powers and should seek out training from professionals in “being a superhero”. While she could have easily spoken with her local BOS office, she wanted to only be trained by the best and was able to contact her prior rescuer Ranger in Colmaton. After being told the whole story, Ranger agreed to take Matilda under her wing and sponsor her into the BOS.
