It's not with irony or sarcasm when I say that he is the nicest being I've ever encountered. There are many people who see this as a flaw, judging him as too soft, but it has been the major reason of this towns success.
I was around when the previous general was still in charge, and although I was too young to be a part of the army, I could understand that Marcelius had no understanding of how to lead people. Gharion knows that and more. Not only does he lead people, but he understands them. If he wouldn't do so well with a sword, he'd probably be our ambassador.
His past has filled him with experience, giving him all the potential of a survivor, fighter, and a god-damn relentless person to his goals. The things he has gone through has left him caring to keep them from happening to others. And although he's always so kind, you do not want to end up when he's legitimately angry. He's more often faking the anger, but the real-deal is nothing to underestimate. Trust me.
