It's all Downhill from here... - Toddlergirl
Dai had been quiet in the car the whole journey. He'd woken up super early, and his parents had made the long drive to the theme park where all the big rides were. He'd spent the whole journey looking over the brochure, gazing longingly at all the pretty pictures of the enormous terror machines that awaited him... Would this trip be the one? The one where he could finally ride them?
For years, he'd been told he was too short to go on anything that looked vaguely thrilling or scary. He had to make do on the runaway train each year - fun and full of laughs, but ultimately left him wanting more.
They finally arrived, and Dai with his reluctant dad in tow ran straight to the one ride he'd spent the trip looking at the most. A friendly staff member blocked the way to the entrance of the ride, and gestured him over to what everyone at school simply called the 'stick of truth'. Dai put his back against the large ruler, and hoped...
"Yep! You're tall enough! Go on through!"
The wait was finally over... The years of concentrating on growing up had worked!!! Bubbling with joy and excitement, Dai tugged his still-pensive father through with him, they entered the gates for the first, and what would certainly not be their last ride of the day.
The day has finally come... After years of having to make do on the 'family friendly' rides, now we can ride some PROPER roller coasters! How many times will he be looping the loop today, do you think?
