This is just a mini marking/coloring example reference for people who might be confused as to what colors go where and blend into. Top two are "chunk" color placements so you can see exactly where what colors go on his body. Lower two are blended to what his normal markings look like.

To the mortal and casual eye, you only see the left examples where his star-shards aren't glowing. But to those who are sensitive to auras, powers, magic, things like that they will be able to see the faint sparkling and glowing star bits embedded in his body. To the untrained eye they only look like glowing spots across his body.
