At first, Naiumi wore diapers for fun--pretending she was a toddler. When her family was out of the house, she would dig out the coloring book and teddy bear she kept stowed away, turn on her favorite cartoons, and put on a thick diaper to enjoy some cub time.

When she revealed to her family that she identified as a girl, they refused to accept the news. The mounting stress caused the panda to rely more and more on her "decompression time" as a cub. As her sessions became more frequent, she found the personality she had created to match, became increasingly real. As time marched on, she even found that certain triggers, or her own exhaustion would cause the personality, named Ai, to take over.

After a few years of Ai's regular surfacing, Naiumi found that she could seldom prevent her inner toddler from surfacing at night. Now, dealing with nighttime incontinence, her evening ritual concludes with a fresh diaper and tucking herself in with her teddy.
