Hour and a half speedpaint

Illustrated a species of my headworld. Inspired by the exctinct Quaggas.
The Kyen horses have muscular and sturdy bodies, excellent in endurance, and short bursts of rapid speed. Unlike normal horses, their front teeth are replaced with a strong beak, which is used to scrape off the dry bark off of the area's trees to then consume. It may seem harmful for the flora, but the trees actually need it. These odd shaped wooden monoliths need to shed their bark to successfully gain energy from the sun. Although the bark would fall off on it's own given time, the Kyen make this process faster, resulting in richer growth.
The area itself is very dry and warm, so instead of spreading in width, the trees reach up, to collect the chemicals higher in the air, and to receive more sunlight.

Kyen diet is the tree bark, the bugs that live in it, and occasionally on colder seasons when the bark produces slower, dry grass. Domesticated Kyen generally are fed with hay, hard berries (that human-like can't consume) and certain vegetables.
