Maria: "I'm sorry I can't do more...that I can't be more than you think I am..." The princess spoke to no one in particular. She stood, huddled in the cold of her frozen garden - one of the only places where she could usually find solace and where she could lament her worries in peace - big bubbly tears beginning to drip from her eyes as she stared solemnly down at her marshmallow puppy at her feet. "I'm not perfect..." Maria's voice slowly quivered more and more with each word, squeezing her eyes shut tight as her tears began to stream. She fell to her knees hunching over as she squeezed her arms into herself more and sobbed for a few long moments, her pup pawing comfortingly at her leg. "I'll never be perfect..." she whispered.

SO, this was gonna start out as some simple vent of me, BUT it gradually turned into Maria, and I decided it would work great in order to explain a bit about something important regarding her.

Maria suffers from mild depression. Along with that, she has a bad habit when it comes to focusing on her own wellbeing as well, and she tends to bottle up her emotions at times. Her biggest issue is that she doesn't view herself as a fit princess. She feels like her citizens, and people in general who look at her, either judge her or hold her on some sort of pedestal thinking she is perfect and will fix any problem like that because she is the princess. Thing is, though, she is a person too. She has her own limitations too, and it hurts her deeply knowing she can never reach the standards and expectations her citizens hold for her. Some things she just can't do, and she has trouble reassuring herself that, that is okay and that her citizens love her no matter what.
