Just my hunch on 'why', but...
An artist cannot always control what inspires them the most out of everything that's on their plate. Sometimes you have to act on inspiration to keep your day-to-day focuses more energizing and less monotonous. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" as the saying goes. It Rayverak finds enjoyment in it then it helps keep everything more rounded and less overbearing. (:

This really is a Project born out of love for foxes.. and more specifically this particular one.
Always had planned to make a fox but never could bring myself to start such a large Project.
Now that I have started, this really has become the Project to prove to myself that I can make a character from start to finish for once.
If I fail to complete this, then I can just pack in and never try modelling again.
And when you are as obsessed with something as I am with this, its a great opportunity to learn new things. And I have learned a lot.

I'm the sort of person on here to remain pretty much anon; I've been following lots of the people I'm 'watching' (including yourself of course!) for a long time on other various platforms, and tend to just keep myself to myself to view things as and when... but I've gotta speak up here, and say that if you're pursuing a project out of your own passion, then please (I can't stress this enough) continue to work on it.
Regardless of the fact that I'm liking the direction where this is going, speaking from personal experience, NEVER let the opportunity to follow up something you love slip away, as you'll not only end up regretting decisions later on, but there's always the serious potential of something which may not see the light of day.
Looks like you've got a solid road map laid out, things are looking good on the modelling front, and I'll look forward to seeing activity in the hopeful near future.

As a fox, I am totally in love with this and I can't wait to see what you do with it.
I've been watching your work a long time, and this comes as *quite* the nice surprise!
Put as much time as you like into this; I'm happy you're giving us insight into the progress!
