Twelve inches of hot jaguar. Haha! This isn't my first try but the first jaguar pattern cane that came out good enough to photograph. This isn't too bad but it could use more spots, and more gradation from large to small spots and maybe a Skinner blend of the background color to white toward the sides...

The frame in the upper left is 40" of spot cane cut into 2" sections before they were squished into one rectangular cane. The other shots are the cane itself and slices. There's enough here to make tons of beads and cover tons of stuff with spots. Maybe I'll do leopard or snowleopard next.

In case furries don't know, polymer clay is plastic stuff that works like clay and can be baked hard in an oven. Canes are made out of it by laying strips of clay together to form a pattern in cross-section. Then they can be cut into beads or cut into slices so the patterns can be applied to other things. It's similar to millefiore.

I searched for other people who have done jaguar pattern canes and found one page that was supposed to be but was actually a giraffe pattern. WTF? Giraffe is super easy. It's based on a simple bullseye cane.
